Hair Salon

Gerri Keane – Founder & Director

Originally from Dublin, Ireland, Gerri moved to England in 1984 and has worked for some of the biggest names in the industry. He has worked in various roles ranging from managing the salon on the ocean liner QE2, to Supervisor of Technical Research and Development for Wella UK. He has been a training manager for a major hair salon group and managed many  salons. Gerri has worked as a freelance stylist and even appeared on stage at The Royal Albert Hall, for the L’oreal Colour Trophy competition final, as a guest artist for L’oreal. He has been interviewed as a successful business owner on BBC Radio 4‘s TODAY programme, and was a guest speaker as a hair expert on BBC Radio 2 twice. He is an accomplished speaker and trainer who also works for Bumble & bumble as a mentor and motivator to other salon owners and hairdressers alike. He travels to London twice a year to present the Immersion course for B & b. He oversees the training at D & K and is responsible for the creative direction of the salon. Gerri is a Master Colour Expert awarded by Wella

In 2003 Gerri and his partner sold up their home and business in Hampshire to relocate and live in Harrogate.

Shaun – Front of House & Salon Manager

Shaun has established himself in a unique position within our salon. He is a gifted and talented man, who uses his experience to great advantage to ensure that our clients get the best customer service available.

Originally from the health and leisure industry, Shaun’s organisational skills are at the heart of this successful salon.

His people skills and his unflappable approach to his role as Front of House Manager have earned him the respect and affection of both the people he works with and the clients he takes care of. It is most likely that your first contact with our salon will be via Shaun and we are confident that you will be extremely well looked after.

Gill – Principal Stylist

After training and working in Harrogate for a major salon group for almost 10 years, Gill was one of the founder members of the team when we opened the salon back in 2008. She quickly established herself as a major influence in the set up and development of Dangerfield & Keane. Gill is a very popular stylist who is a confident cutter, colorist and trained in permanent hair straightening services. Gill balances her successful career with husband and their home life with 2 children

She has a regular clientele whose loyalty is evident by the high rebooking rate she enjoys.

Shane – Principal Stylist

Originally from Trinidad, Shane moved to the UK in 2003 and trained as a Hairdresser in London.
He has worked with such names as Harvey Nichols, Space NK, Esprit, Visnu and was formerly a Style Director at Toni & Guy.
Shane is a stylist with many years of experience to his credit and works for us at the top of our grading of stylists.

He holds his A1 Assessors award in Hairdressing, BTEC National Diploma in Fashion and Media Make-up, NVQ 2 and NVQ 3 in Hairdressing as well as a qualification in Tailoring. Shane is a Master Colour Expert awarded by Wella

 

Jenna – Principal Stylist

Jenna joined the team in March 2011, having relocated to Harrogate from Lincolnshire.

A talented and creative stylist with many years experience on the salon floor, Jenna was awarded the prestigious Wella Master Colour Award in November 2013. Her passion for colour together with her eye for detail have made her one of the most popular colourists we have. Jenna is also qualified and experienced in our L’oreal permanent hair straightening service. Jenna is a Master Colour Expert awarded by Wella

Kate – Principal Stylist

Back in 2010, Kate joined us as a young trainee and has worked extremely hard during that time. She progressed from being one of our busiest Graduate Stylists to Salon Stylist, and is now a Principle Stylist. Kate has represented the salon at charity events as well as presentation work for our product supplier Bumble & bumble in London. In 2014 Kate was called to London to work on the Roland Mouret S/S 15 fashion show and then in September Kate worked at London Fashion Week S/S 15. She return to London Fashion Week in March ’15 to work on the A/W 15 shows and again in September 2015 for S/S 2016

Kate is one of the few members of staff at this salon who has qualified in Technical Colouring almost exclusively under the training of Gerri. She has attended many external training courses with L’oreal, Wella and Bumble & bumble in Leeds, Manchester and London. She is an extremely confident and creative stylist and we know she has a very bright future.

Rachel – Salon Stylist

Rachel trained exclusively with Dangerfield & Keane having joined Dangerfield & Keane from school. She is a very talented colorist and cutter having trained exclusively under Gerri’s guidance. Her extremely friendly nature and approachable manner have made her very popular with existing and new clients alike.

Rachel has built her clientele quickly with her reputation for excellent creative hairdressing and was recently promoted to the position of Salon Stylist.

Marcus – Graduate Stylist

Having trained elsewhere, Marcus wanted to perfect and hone his hairdressing skills, which led him to us. He is passionate about cutting and has worked tirelessly since joining us in February 2014. He has already retrained in cutting under Gerri’s guidance and he has attended 3 external courses last year alone. He is continuing to work hard at building his clientele with Dangerfield & Keane. Marcus specialises in cutting and colouring.

Nathan – Technician

Nathan has completed his colour training entirely under Gerri’s direction and now offers colour services in the salon. Nathan has also attended many courses with our partners Wella at their Manchester Studio and has a bright future ahead as a talented colourist and stylist. He is currently training as a cutting stylist and is taking models on Tuesdays. Contact Shaun for more information on 561116

Victoria – Trainee  

Victoria is a full time apprentice with us, and attends Intuitions School of Hairdressing as well as training with us in the salon. Victoria is currently training as a colour technician with us and needs models on Tuesdays. For more information please contact Shaun on 561116

Mo – Assistant

Mo joined us when we first opened the salon. She is a permanent member of the team who works part time. Mo is a very popular and well loved member of our team.
