My new hair. A thank you….

Subject: thank you
Hi Shaun,
I just wanted to say a huge thank you to you all, especially Gerri, for everything you did yesterday.
It was wonderful to go somewhere where I felt comfortable talking about my hair loss and what I was wanting from a wig. Gerri was great at working out exactly what I wanted and I am absolutely amazed by the difference to my hair. I truely never thought I could look like this. The whole experience was not scary or stressful but throughly relaxing and exciting, and I would recommend you to anyone in the same position as me. I felt special for all the right reasons and for the first time ever was excited about showing friends my new hair! And the feedback was brilliant! I am still surprised each time I catch a glimpse in the mirror!
Thank you once again,
Mandy

Expansion for Harrogate Hairdresser and National Recognition

As published in the Harrogate Advertiser July 2011

Expansion for Harrogate Hairdresser and National Recognition

Popular Harrogate hair salon Dangerfield & Keane has more than doubled the size of its Coldbath Road premises.

Since it was set up by well-known local stylist Gerri Keane three years ago, the salon has increased from four to 16 staff and has now undergone a large extension at the rear of the salon to create 12 work stations and a dedicated reception area.

As well as seeing the business thrive despite the recession, Gerri has also received national recognition from leading New York-based hair product supplier Bumble & bumble, which is part of the Estee Lauder Group of companies.  Having attending the company’s business development seminar in London 18 months ago, he was last month invited to return – this time to teach other hair salons about sound business practice.

“We’ve worked hard over the last three years and have been very fortunate that we have been able to build up a loyal base of clients which has led to us needing to increase salon space by over 50 per cent,” said Gerri.  “After four months’ building work, we now have more work stations and stylists as well as a more pleasant environment for clients with an air conditioned and spacious salon, and we are now working on the garden area where they can relax during appointments.

“As well as celebrating the recent completion of the new look salon, I was also honored to be chosen by Bumble and bumble to teach other salons about how to make a success of their business.  It makes a refreshing change for an independent regional hair salon to be recognised in this way – I’m glad to be putting Harrogate on the hairdressing map!”

Dangerfield & Keane held a charity day…

Gerri, Shaun, Vikki, and some of the team handing over the cash to Sandra Dunning from St Michael's Hospice.

held a charity day on Saturday 29 May 2010 to raise money for St Michael’s Hospice, Harrogate.

Together with our fantastic clients, we raised over £2000 on our charity day for St Michael’s Hospice. We are indebted to Stray FM for their help in publicising this event, and to DJ Pete Edwards for having his nose waxed live on air!!!

Dangerfield & Keane Hair and Beauty salon partnered with 97.2 Stray FM as radio sponsors for the Harrogate Race for Life for the 3rd year running. This year’s Race For Life saw over 3300 local women walk, jog or run the 5 kilometer course at the Great Yorkshire Showground and raised over £150,000 in the process.
